Leader Characteristics: Implications for Individuals and Organizations: To what extent, how, and under what conditions do leaders’ characteristics and styles shape their followers and organizations? Drawing on diverse work from both macro (e.g., strategy) and micro perspectives (e.g., neuroscience), I will present several studies focusing on leader personality (e.g., values) and style (e.g., charisma) and their implications for individuals and organizational outcomes. I will provide evidence for mechanisms, such as organizational learning and organizational culture, through which leaders are reflected in their organizations.
